FAQ discussion

What does College Funding Advocates do?

We help families understand how college costs work, how financial aid is awarded, and how to position themselves for the strongest possible outcome. We also provide admissions strategy and student‑athlete guidance.

Do you fill out the FAFSA or CSS Profile?

No. Families complete their own forms. We provide strategic guidance on how responses affect financial aid outcomes.

Do you help with essays?

No. Families maintain ownership of all applications and essays. We may discuss strategic direction, but we do not edit or develop essays.

Do you help student‑athletes?

Yes — Rick provides NCAA recruiting insight shaped by decades of coaching and athletic leadership.

Do you offer ongoing scholarship searches?

No. We identify scholarship opportunities at each target college but do not continue searches through the summer of senior year.

Do you help build extracurricular plans?

We advise on direction and positioning but do not create detailed action plans.

What is your most valuable service?

Our appeal letter strategy — a signature service that helps families request additional aid when appropriate.
